Question: Problem pumping gas into tank after replacing gas cap

Recently replaced gas cap with OE cap for 2007 Jeep Commander Limited and when I tried to fill tank with gas the gas pump nozzle lever kept tripping as though the tank was full, but it wasn't. Any suggestions what the problem might be? Thanx.
