Question: how much does it cost to change a timing belt?

Just curious how much money it tends to cost to do this type of repair.

I'd say around 1,000. You can get an estimate in the service your 5-series section on the driverside site. Go to what's fair to pay, select engine, timing chain, type in your zip, and click view report.
